EZ Eats: Taco Pile-On

Tacos are a huge tradition in our family and we have a family recipe that we love! Sadly it has flour in it :( It can easily be omitted, but it is not quite as savory. Here are the seasonings I used:

Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1tbs cumin
1tbs garlic
1tbs cayenne pepper

Cook all ingredients on a skillet on the stove until meat is cooked through. Serve over a bed of lettuce with any veggie you can think of. We had tomatoes, bellpeppers, jalepenos, mushrooms and a side of avocado. Don't forget your cauli-rice!

EZ Eats: Lunch out

We went to Chili's after church today to use a much appreciated gift card from one of my students. It may seem difficult to decide what to eat at a restaurant that would be considered paleo, low carb or gluten free. The good news is you are not stuck with a salad! Here is what we ordered.

Salmon, shrimp and a side of broccoli. E ordered ribs with sweet potato fries and his momma had steak with shrimp and broccoli! Fajitas minus the tortillas are also a good go to meal.

Nutrition: it's well-known, or maybe not, that most restaurants cook their food with seed oils meaning pretty much everything on the menu is high in omega 6 fatty acids. To combat this go for the fish option or make sure to eat more omega 3 rich foods for your next meal. Omega 3 supplements are always an option too! It is extremely hard to avoid MSG at restaurants, so know that will be part of your meal as well.
